People either love it or hate it! (BTW, coriander is the seed of the plant, cilantro is the leaf and stems of the same plant.)

There is an enzyme in the plant that makes some people perceive the taste as similar to that of soap. Those people will never like the taste, no matter how it is prepared. To the rest of us, it is a wonderful peppery flavor that works well with a lot of different foods.

Persons either adore it or hate it! (BTW, coriander is the seed of the plant, cilantro is the leaf and stems of the identical plant.) there is an enzyme in the plant that makes some folks perceive the taste as just like that of soap. These individuals will on no account like the style, regardless of how it is prepared. To the rest of us, it's a exclusive peppery taste that works well with plenty of one of a kind foods.

Only 10 percent of people can smell/taste the chemical Aliphatic Aldehyde in cilantro, Tarragon also has that chemical. They both seem more like floral scented cleaners than food to me. That is what wrecks cilantro for us. You sound like you are in the 10 percent.

I seldom use coriander (seeds) but I use a lot of cilantro.(leaves) Salsa doesn't taste right without it.

When added to dishes it adds a subtle flavour, it is especially used in curries. I can understand someone not liking it, I personally like the flavour.
