Is there a time limit, for crimes?

If I were to write about a girlfriend that was a coke head prostitute ten years ago, will she get prosecuted?

Update:

Plus she took a joint through american customs, will she be done for smuggling?

Update 2:

So I am still not clearer, does anyone actually know for sure?

The UK has no statute of limitations. So yes, she could be prosecuted, assuming evidence could be found and the CPS thinks it would be in the public interest.

In Uk there is no limit on crimes that would be tried at crown court, but a six month limit on petty offences. If petty crimes were reported but unsolved the case may remain open, if they were not reported within six months no one would get arrested.

Your main concern should be that she sues you for writing about this if you make her recognisable.

This is a very stupid question from a very stupid person.

Prostitution isn't illegal and never has been.

If she wasn't stopped with the joint at the time, what evidence is there?

    Grow up.

Some crimes, like murder and sexual assault, no, others, like actual assault and drugs, yes.
