Are more Americans buying British chocolate (candy)?
A work colleague was recently telling me how she regularly sends British chocolate over to her daughter in the States. I simply assumed this was because her daughter emigrated there and wanted some stuff you couldn't buy in the US.
I only recently found out that this was actually her daughter in law, herself a born and bred American, but she and her kids prefer British chocolate.
I don't really eat chocolate (plays havoc with my IBS) but the one piece of American choc I've eaten (Reese's Pieces I think it was called) tasted quite nice to me. I've since read some articles online about American chocolate fans/ connoisseurs going to speciality stores specifically to buy British chocolate (Cadburys Diary Milk kept cropping up)
Is UK chocolate preferable to some Americans? And if so, why?
(Would love to hear opinions from Americans who've tried both).

British chocolate is considered the best, especially Cadbury's milk tray. But the Americans have purchased the Cadbury business now, so the chocolate might change.

Don't ask that question of me---I practically live next door to Hershey, PA. I think chocolate runs through my veins.
