Castrated males, called whethers, are the cheapest, usually anywhere from $50 to $100. Female goats, called does, are usually $100 to $300, while intact males, called bucks, can be anywhere from $50 to $300 (depending on show quality and such).

Then you also have to factor in hay, grain, shelter/fencing, the occasional vet visit, etc.
