What is wrong with our world when so many teens on here saying how they want to end their lifes?

It's merely the concept of "Notice me". Being a teenager is very difficult. Becoming aware of a world that is not all that nice at all and very cruel. Also because they have not yet learned experience and are surrounded by other narrow-minded inexperienced teens and a cruel media, it only makes sense they have a little break down.

Saying that they have very few people to talk to. Rarely will they discuss such things with parents or teachers and they get no understanding from fellow peers, so logically they use the internet to express there feeling. Here they can be safe to express themselves.

Now throughout my life I have had very close friends and loves who have had real mental breakdowns and believe me the things I read here at not a expression of true depression or a sound mind in decline. Quite the opposite.

As I started off by saying at least 90% is merely notice me and if all they need is a little "There, there" and "It will be aright" then let them do so. I have lost too many friends to real depression and madness.

I'm a teenager and someone said they were so bored they wanted to kill themselves. So I answered and told them that, its sick to say that because people are committing suicide over REAL problems then I got about 3 paragraphs of Additional Detail Abuse... Then An answerer came and said that she was joking and I should learn to know when people are joking... How can you know when someone is joking on the internet? Its not like your there with that person and they have a 'Joke' tone to their voice. Its bloody ridiculous and other teenagers need to stop asking for help on here and go and get some REAL help from doctors.

I think someone should start doing something, but I doubt they'll ever get anywhere. Almost nobody cares about depressed and suicidal kids, especially the authorities like police and teachers which really sickens me.There is absolutely nothing we can do to change the lives of these kids other than telling them not to kill themselves and tell them it'll get better- and that is probably the worst thing to tell these kids because they know it's not true. I really think schools should start listening up to their students, explain why bullying is wrong, explain why helping others is a good thing, and that if someone is suicidal it is not just a chemical imbalance in the brain it is a serious issue and medicine is not going to change the issue. But nothing is ever going to happen, no one cares about us, it's better if we just kill ourselves before it gets any worse. Society and the government have really gone downhill and there's nothing we can do to stop them, they've ruined themselves and they've ruined innocent kids.

Amen, Squeeze! You are definitely preaching to the choir! I reply to every desperate plea for help like the person is deadly serious. I think the biggest problems are the social climates in our schools. Our children have committed NO crime. Why, then, are they being treated worse than people in prison? Why do our children feel like they are in a combat zone? Our children are not warriors. They are students. Yet, with bullying, children are treating other children like they were the enemy! A lot of improvement will be seen when we get rid of bullying.

Bullying for me. I have nobody to go to besides God... I don't know what to do
