when container arrives in uk?

if i have a full container what are the charges other than vat/duty...that have to be paid to port ..can i do my own clearance...one mcycle cost 225paid to english clearing agent how much for full contaner with six bikes...i can get shipping fully paid into felixstowe from states but then have to pay our customs, can i do this myself without clearing agent fees which are alot..

    There will no doubt be port handling fees, storage fees and reloading fees onto a truck.

    Clearing agents are the go between the customer and customs, these agents are bonded and responsible for the information they lay before customs. Whether a private individual would be allowed to do this is debatable.

    I wouldn't have thought there was much difference between clearing one bike in a container or six, there would be more import duty and VAT to pay but the paperwork should be similar, just a case of putting 6 off instead of 1 off.

    Complex question. You'd be better off ringing the Port Authorities in Felixstowe.
