Sri Lankans love Tendulkar but hate Kohli..?

Both these players have blasted SL bowlers. Sachin did it for many years now Kohli is doing it. But their popularity among SL fans is at the opposite ends of scale. Many of my friends say they don't like Kohli's attitudes ( but I personally don't think Kohli is that bad). But I've never seen any SLns ever talk negatively about Sachin. Is personality the biggest difference between those two players.? Could Kohli's personality problems affect his success in the long run.?

Kohli often shows emotions on the field, He jumps energetically in celebrations, screams on sensitive moments, uses offensive words (only to himself, never to others). But he is not that bad, he never said any harsh word to any Sri Lankan player. Social Networking is responsible behind current heats in my opinion. Today fans of different nations interact too much online. That results into heated conversations about realtime events, sometime the top performers are targeted to mock the verbal assaults. At the time of Sachin, social networking wasn't in existence. Fans were living in their own worlds.

Sachin was always cool, calm and composed, hardly given any opposition fan a reason to dislike him. His fans are everywhere in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, England everywhere in the world.

They may rate you high as a player but not as an individual. If we watch neutral countries playing, we always wish the player we like most to do good and you get liked by your behavior. Could Kohli's personality problems affect his success in the long run.?

I've seen many Sri lankan trolls including Nalakafairly abusing Sachin every possible way

But there is a good probability that apart from these trolls ( which I believe exist everywhere in less or more quantities ) wise and genuine cricket fans wouldn't hate any great player from any country

I know some Indians who detest Ponting for his cheating, sledging and and arrogance on and off the field especially after the Sydney test which was by far the worst piece of cheating at international level in the history of the game when he extensively appealed after the grounded catches, pressurized umpires to make decisions in his favour, treacherously trapped Harbhajan Singh in a fake racial abuse to get him suspended when he was in a terrific form with bat and ball, and ironically raised questions about Sachin's integrity and still got away with it without any ban or suspension

But still Indians don't disregard him as a cricketer unlike Aussie users Bingalee, Joeblow, Red Dog, Bill P, Johnh, primealivestyson, Mrjinx etc etc who never miss a single chance to abuse a gentleman like Tendulkar which only shows their narrow mindedness and prejudiced biased attitude

and as far as trolls are concerned nobody gives a hoot what they rant here in this forum no matter which country they belong to

I am a huge fan of Kohli myself. He is a talented batsman, probably the best among the youngsters, especially in ODIs. He’s still got a lot to prove in tests, though but I am not a fan of his attitude. Its alright to celebrate after scoring a ton but there’s no point abusing the opposition. You don’t necessarily need to abuse others to be successful. Sachin and Dravid from India, Mahela and Sanga from Sri Lanka, Inzy Bhai from Pakistan, Dan and Fleming from New Zealand and presently Cook from England have proved that. You can get appreciated for your talent but people won’t like you if you have an attitude problem. They may rate you high as a player but not as an individual. If we watch neutral countries playing, we always wish the player we like most to do good and you get liked by your behavior.

Kohli has a lot to learn in this department. When I say this, people accuse me of being a Kohli basher. Its ridiculous. I like him and want him to do well in each match he plays because that’s beneficial for my country. I just want him to have a controlled aggression.

Entire world love Sachin Tendulkar. He is the god of cricket game.

Virat Kohli is nice player he is inform. He scored very good numbers against Srilanka. That why they don't like him.

Kohli has got too much aggression, emotion & passion which shows his hunger to win matches for his country. He gives his full committement for the cause of his team, that's unbelievable to see.Yes he shows his emotions too much onfield but so what?Sachin had his own soft, calm & dignified personality,& now this is kohli,& his emotions only show his dedication for the team win.And i see nothing wrong in it.People from other counties obviously will not like it though.Who liked ponting when he used to show over-aggression in his younger days?

Kohli is more arrogant and emotional. Tendulkar is more polite, down to earth and never seen him showing emotions.
