Why do girls wear tights under trousers?

If a girl (or a guy) wants to wear skinny jeans in cold weather, the skinny jeans don't allow enough room for typical long underwear. But tights are not a problem, and for something so thin, they provide a surprising amount of extra warmth under trousers.

If its cold but thick tights can be incomfortable i wear thin tights underneath in winter if its really cold. Sometimes thin tights can be really comfy under loose trousers

Normally to keep warm - bloody ridiculous if you ask me though!

For comfort, surely.

Like, if it's cold outside, or if the pants you're wearing are really uncomfortable on the inside.
