name differs on account payable cheque?
1) Name appeared on the bank account ( Indian bank/ Bank of Baroda ) as Asha Pathak
but an account payable cheque received as Asha Rajkumar Pathak
Here Rajkumar is the Father's name. In bank Record also mentioned the father's name as Rajkumar Pathak.
The "Pan card" given in bank account also mentioned " Asha Rajkumar Pathak"
I would like to know that the chque issued on the name of " Asha Rajkumar Pathak" will not allowed to receive the payment if the bank account title is "Asha Pathak"
This bank account is about 10 years old and bank knows the customer
is there is banking norms consider this situation as discrepancy to stop the payment?
2) And if yes then who is going to stop the payment the cheque issuing bank or the Receiving bank?
3) do she need to open a new account with Name sale as this cheque and Pan card to receive the payment.
to Powlmao- Absence of middle name is not on the cheque it is on the Account title(Bank account name)

I understand that the cheque is crossed ' Account Payee only ' In this case convince your branch ( collecting branch ) about the identity. If your Bank certifys and sends the cheque for collection the paying bank will not make any objection.

It depends on the discretion of the Manager making the payment. Most of the banks may not honour the cheque even with minor discrepancy. You may get another cheque issued by the party who issued the cheque with the correct name. Otherwise you have to open another account.

The reason it didn't get deposited is that the bank didn't recognize the name on the check did you endorse the check by signing your real name on the back of the check or did your sign it by the nickname that is on the check. The bank will hold for a period of 10 days. You'll have to go to the bank on Monday and explain to the branch manager that the check was sent to your home (hope you didn't throw out the envelope that it came in) with your address on it and show some id that has the same address and tell them that the name on the check is your nickname and if you have to take a parent with you so that they can verify that the name on the check is really your nickname

The name difference isn't big enough to stop payment. It really is only the absence of a middle name.
