4 month old baby passport photo help?

I just got my four month old babies passport photo taken and the man was so rude, he didn't care about the photo and expected me to sit him on a high backless chair unaided!! Any way because of all this he gave us the photos and my son is smiling! And I'm wondering if it will get accepted by the passport office? I'm in the uk. He was awake and looking right at the camera and smiling. Do you think they will accept it? Thanks so much,

No smart/cheeky comments please.

Internationally the common rules like having a neutral expression don't apply to kids under 5 years old. I just checked the UK requirements and the same is true there as well:

    "Photos for child passports

Children must be on their own in the picture. Babies must not be holding toys or using dummies.

If the child is under 5, they don’t have to be looking directly at the camera or have a neutral expression.

If the child is under 1, their eyes don’t have to be open. If their head is supported by a hand, the hand mustn’t be visible in the photo."

So your baby smiling will not cause the photo to be rejected.

They can be very fussy about photos but really a child so young it's very hard to meet the exact specification

All you can do it try and wait and see

yes - for children under a certain age they accept photos that aren't perfect - as long as no-one else is visible in it

Of course they will accept it. Why do you think they wouldn't?
