Would you buy new Moses basket mattress?

I know it's recommended for each new baby to have a new mattress to reduce SIDS

My daughter was a tiny baby and only in her Moses basket for 20 weeks. The mattress that we bought for her was an expensive one and she was only on it a short space of time.

There are no dents in the structure, no tears and its basically completely immaculate, the only difference between that and a new one is she slept on it for 10 weeks only

Would you buy a new mattress in this situation?

Update:

Oops

Yes it was 10- ten weeks only

New baby due in the next 4 weeks

In this situation, no, I wouldn't. In fact I won't. (New baby on the way, bassinet only briefly used by our son, mattress looking and feeling like new.)

By the way, 10 weeks or 20 weeks?

With my 6 year old niece my sister used a second hand basket and mattress, no harm.

Same with my 13 year old nephew, used cot and everything. I don't know where SIDS and used mattresses got involved. Buying a new basket plus mattress would cost, and you can only buy cot mattresses.

No i wouldn't. You know exactly what condition it is in. If you had any doubt you would buy a new one.

I used my 1st moses basket mattress for my second baby.
