How to keep tiny fibers off mirror of SLR?

I am very careful with my new camera but no matter how careful I am small fibers find their way onto the mirror.

The camera is kept in an airtight plastic box as there is high humidity and a lot of bacteria and dust in the air, I use the camera daily and have no mechanical problems with it.

I do not change lenses as I prefer to keep the original lens on as I does all I need, Im also afraid to clean the mirror myself as I am aware of the fatal damage I could cause.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks, H.

I can't explain how the tiny fibers got on your mirror either, but you can safely clean them off. Buy a camera blower brush. Don't get the compressed air cans because these are too strong sometimes. Remove your lens, and -without using the brush part- gently blow the fibers away from the mirror. This might help.

Examples of camera blower brushes I found at Amazon:

I don't have any advise regarding cleaning other than to contact the manufacturer for advise in cleaning or have them do it. Some things are worth spending the money for.In regard to changing the lenses especially on digital cameras I always point the camera toward the floor or ground when I change a lens. I don't really know how much this helps but gravity forcing things down, it makes sense to me.

Also does you camera have a Shake situation where dust particles are shaken off the sensor? This may help also.

    Good Luck.

Tiny fibers? Perhaps you need to consider how you store the camera. With the lens on nothing can enter the camera. So if you have fibers they were already there.

It's normal as long as nothing gets on the image sensor behind the mirror then it will be fine.
