is it possible to retrieve data once the hard drive has been wiped?
Is it possible, if so how?
or will it cost to sent to a pc repair shop.
this wasdone within the last 12 days, at home, so fom the computers software....is that low or high wiping. files

That all depnds on what was used to "wipe" the hard drive. Some retrieval softwares can find some data if the wiping was low level. You'd need to instal this hard drive in to a working computer to try to retrieve anything. There's probably is a 1 - 2% chance of success.

some times its hard to recover information from wiped hdd's. anyway you can try a free recovery tool like recua to recover your deleted files and stuff. it depend on the duration you erased the data. better thing is trying, so at least try on your own. :) cheerrrzz

Use recovery tools such as photorec/testdisk. Free and efficient.
