Date for self-sufficiency of American colonies?

I'm writing an essay on the relations between Britain and the american colonies 1763 and I'm including a bit about the self-sufficiency of the american colonies. Is there a specific date that can be attributed to the colonies becoming self-sufficient? A specific time? Thanks very much in advance!

    Yes

Jamestown was the first successful colony after the implementation of tobacco as a cash crop. Other colonies soon followed suit.

John Rolfe was the first man to successfully raise tobacco at Jamestown. He arrived in Jamestown in 1609. Jamestown was thriving as a producer of tobacco and Jamestown's population would top 4,000. Tobacco led to the importation of the colony's first black slaves as well as women from England in 1619.

No. Giving an exact date in history is in most cases impossible (safe for events like a battle). self-sufficiency is a process that is like the changing of art, it flows.
