I'm a budding guitarist with quite some potential. A typical Pisces; caring, creative (artistic and musical), lazy yet outgoing, sensitive but knows what to say and when to say it etc. I'm hoping to be part of a band with my sister singing J-Pop. Love anime as much as my sister. Currently studying Japanese, gradually might I add and I'm hoping to bring back the love of the Japanese culture when I'm nice and famous!

  • What did Hitler mean by this quote?

I found this quote on a history learning site and don't really understand the meaning: "The main plank in the National Socialist program is to abolish the liberalistic concept of the individual and the Marxist concept of humanity and to substitute for them the folk community, rooted in the soil and bound together by the bond of its common blood."

Does the common blood refer tot he German not living in Germany? What's a folk community? Thnks in advance!

  • Effective ways to block out background conversation?

Basically I have a phobia and I've let my doctor and teacher know however, during one of my lessons my teacher has made me aware that next week (for 3 hours) we'll be discussing the topic (which happens to be my phobia). Since it's totally okay for me to leave if it's really stressing me out she's advised me to just try and see how it goes at first as these 3 hours contain content that's pretty important to our exam BUT she says of course if I really can't stand to discuss or hear any conversation about it she's totally fine with me blocking my ears and just ignoring the lesson whilst that particular thing is discussed and mentioned that if it's stressing me out way too much I can just ive her a signal and leave the room for a bit.

The thing is, whilst it's all very well blocking my ears there's only so much noise I can drown out and I can't sit there and sing to myself because people will notice, despite the fact I'm pretty much behind everybody and my friends on my table are aware of my phobia so I have support and everything but I'd like to know if there are any effective ways of blocking out background conversations without the use of earphones (as I'm obviously not allowed them in class). I know some noise will get through but if there's a good way of ignoring it to the point where I can't tell what's being said or where I cn just simply forget it completely as soon as it has been said.

Just to end, my teacher is in no way forcing me to take lessons (I'm in sixth form, over 16, so I'm of no legal obligation to attend them), she's allowed me to dip out of the last hour of the lesson today and just set me some work on the lesson that I don't mind revising - she always makes sure I hve enough for the exam and just takes out the bits I can't handle. Despite this, I can't miss too many lessons as I have a whole exam on this so it's really just these 3 hours that I need to get through if I can. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

  • What is this Korean song?

Firstly this link goes to a blog which has a playlist on at the moment and the first song that comes on should be track 14: http://mishcheungx.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/kpop-die...

It's this beautiful song! What's it called and by who? I tried googling the lyrics but it's Korean and I can't follow the lyrics fast enough since I'm English. I do know the English lyrics however:

'Everything I know is all your love gam sah (some korean lyrics) everything you do is all for me... etc'

If anyone knows the name or artist I'll be very appreciative thanks in advace! :)

  • Help with A-level history - explanations in essays?

So I've always loved History but nowadays, after completing AS especially I'm finding myself resenting it. The reason being I'm not hitting the higher grades in my essays. Now I'm going to clarify I am studying at A2 now! A2!!! I studies AS last year however I am resitting the content paper for slavery and abolition at AS t improve my grade. I handed back a slavery essay for AS last week and got the result back this week, although usually AS students at first receive grades below C's like D's and E's I was expecting to get a high grade but came out with a C. My essay was CONSIDERABLY better than the last time I'd written it (the year before) however she said 'your essay was fantastic but every paragraph after the first paragraph there were no explanations whatsoever which is why you didn't get higher than a C.' I was so confused because I thought I'd made clear my explanations but apparently not. I know very well that what makes an explanation explicit is by clearly stating that 'blah blah blah happened because....' and I thought I'd done this.

Despite knowing this I'm obviously not maintaining a good roll in perfect essays. Can somebody please advise me on a really good essay both at AS and A2! Thank you so much in advance!!

  • How to break it off with Japanese boyfriend?

He's a westernized Japanese guy and he's wonderful. He's done absolutely nothing wrong. But after we'd sort of confessed our liking of each other today...I can't help but feel so much regret. I do care for this guy and we've had a long conversation about how long we've liked each other, uni life, skyping etc (it's a long term relationship). We've known each other for a few months but we quickly figured out our feelings, now I just feel childish for making a decision to be his girlfriend so soon.

The truth is, I don't seem to have much of an emotional connection with him. There is another guy, Japanese, whom I have actually cried over twice because I missed him. We're still friends and he's strongly hinted he likes me back. He's not westernized he's a traditional Japanese but we can communicate just fine. I feel like I'm betraying the Traditional because the Westernized has straight forward told me he loved me. I thought I felt the exact same way today and yesterday too. But ever since we stopped talking for the day I just feel...like it's not right. The reason I find it so hard to break it off simply is because at first when Westernized asked me to be his girlfriend, I said there are so many issues we'd have to deal with so it's better to wait, then I said actually I've thought it through and I've decided I'm ok with this. Now if I break it off I'll be losing a great friend and also I'll seem so childish after changing my mind again. It's a ridiculous reason not to break it off because if I don't it's a recipe for disaster and it's selfish of me. So how can I break it off, how should I handle this? Advice much appreciated!

  • Want stud cartilage piercing?

I really would rather have it done with a needle however; needle = bar or ring and machine gun = stud

Can I switch my piercing to a stud after having it pierced with a needle and having a ring/bar for a while till it heals a bit?

If I switch it from a ring to a stud will the hole be okay to put a stud through? Same with a bar, will the hole be the right shape, will it be too big for a stud? I really want a stud but I don't want the gun. My piercer says you can't have a stud with a needle nor a ring/bar with a gun because it's how the tools are made which is true. Help is greatly appreciated!

  • Where to put the word 'not' in a sentence?

In Korean: 'an' = 'not' (I would use actual Korean letters but it won't let me copy and paste the letter n without the letter I which would be no in Korean when paired with the letter a, so annoying if you're following me)

But where does 'an' go in a sentence? E.g. This is a woman - I neun yeoja ida (where would I place 'an' to say 'this is not a woman'?)

  • Cartilage piercing, gun/needle/different earrings?

SO basically, I understand that when getting most ear piercings you either have the option of a needle, which can only fit bars and rings, or a gun, which fits studs. I really want studs for my cartilage piercing around the side rim of my ear but you can only et studs fitted for the first time with a gun. I don't want to use a gun as apparently using a needle is much safer, more precise and hygienic etc etc. BUT I have a query.

If I have the piercing done with a needle and therefore have a bar or a ring, when I eventually end up changing the earring if I want to, can I switch it for a stud?

It's hard to explain, but since I'd rather have it pierced with a needle, but can therefore only have a ring/bar when I want a stud instead, after it's healed or when I can change it, can I swap the ring for a stud, or is this not possible?

  • Is this a spoilt bratty guy/what does it mean when he says this?

Okay so I have a 'penpal' friend from America who, to be quite honest, is starting to give me the impression that he's a spoilt little bratty boy. The first thing that got me was how he was telling me about how he crashed his car into someone elses and it got smashed and he was going to sue or get rid of the cop that got him because his dad's in the military or something. The second thing was something he said today. He said he's just resting and that he's 'prank called a bunch of cops and got them deployed LOL' and I just thought...'what?' I mean, when he sayd he got them deployed what does this mean? He got them fired? He got them out looking for the 'prank caller'? Does he sound like a bratty reckless boy to anyone else other than me?

  • Collecting train ticket from ticket machine?

So I know it says to bring credit/debit card and the collection reference number too but right now I'm getting a new PIN number because I've forgotten my old one. I need to collect the tickets on Wednesday, my new PIN won't be ready by then. Apparently you only need the card for identification so you slot it in then only enter the collection reference number you received when you made the booking. You don't need your PIN number when collecting tickets from the machine do you? I would have thought that it would only use PIN numbers when charging you for something but since the tickets are pre-paid as I'm collecting them that would not happen. This is in the UK. Do I need my PIN number or not?
