"will" in the following sentence correct? If not, how properly to rewrite it?

The picnic will be cancelled if it will rain.

    no. should be "the picnic will be cancelled if it rains". The presence of the second 'will' is unneccesary

    the picnic will be cancelled if it rains.

    Or, if it rains the picnic will be cancelled
