Do people with dreadlocks get stopped more by the police? UK?

Probably yes as they are more inclined to smoke weed.

Just because one has dreadlocks does not mean they adhere to Rastafarian, whilst the religion do advocate the use of cannabis use does not mean that they all smoke it all the time otherwise it would be one hell of an expensive religion.

Most Rastafarians i have known both personally and met are generally very friendly people and just because they have dreadlocks does not mean that they MUST be stopped and searched.

In fact in my years as an officer i have yet to stop and search the typical stereotype Rastafarian (dreads, rasta hat etc), but then i work in North London which does not have a large Rastafarian population.

Nope, and I live in Glasgow. The police now are legally forbidden from stopping people just because of the way they look. They only time in my life I have been subjected to a stop and search was in exchange for me taking a picture of their search dog (this was so they could tick off yes we stopped a young white girl). It was all very friendly.

But it this way, why would that bother you unless you had something to hide?

Why does it matter? If you have nothing to hide, let them search you. They won't find anything so it doesn't matter? I've had dreadlocks for more than 2 years, never been searched randomly and I drive a hippy van haha. Just get them if you want them, they'll look great.

Think.... Rastafarian. Weed is part of their religious ceremony. Only older people know that though.
