01 crown victoria misfire cylinder 8 code fixed but skips...?
i recently bought a 01 crown vic with 169,00 mile on it. ran amazing. noticed a coolant leak do to crack in intake mainfold so i replaced it with a used one of ebay. cars hasnt ran the same since. some coolant got on the plugs while taking manifold off. misfire code in 3 cylinders after that so i changed all plugs and new coils from ebay. still ran kinda iffy and had one misfire in cylinder 8 no matter how i gapped the plug so i took them all out and replaced them with Bosch platinum +4 gap less ones... cars ran better and no check engine light but still skips a little... could i have bad gas or some thing i over looked....
only skips at idle...accelerates with no problem...

About the only thing Robert says that's of any value is the cleaning of the IAC and while you're there use the carb cleaner to flush out the throttle body too. Most Ford engines seem to do much better with Motorcraft COPs versus aftermarket and they were engineered to use Motorcraft plugs so it seems logical to replace them with the same.
