Why do questions that have been deleted still appear?

I've just clicked on three perfectly good questions to find each one of them has been deleted.

What a waste of time!

Do other users feel the same?

How can we get it changed?

Yes it is quite annoying to open something that has been removed, through reporting. However there is a solution of sorts, for those who are level seven with the trust rating, and at level seven to edit the question category, where questions are placed.

First for level seven users is to open the question in two tabs or windows. In only one tab, or window do the following steps. Report the question, then after reporting it, use the back button, then refresh the page. If the question was removed it will show. Though it's a good idea to refresh twice, to be sure.

If the question has been removed, go to the other tab or window. Click on Edit Category. Then change the category to any other category. Doing that will try to move the now removed question from where it was to the new category. However it will not show in the newly assigned category, as the question was removed. This has been tested, and found to work.

Yes I agree it is frustrating to click onto a question that has been removed and is under review.

What is even more frustrating is to have an obvious vulgar question remain on the stream of questions even after it has been reported.

Surely there is a way to immediately get reported questions off of the stream of questions. It is annoying and some of the questions are very offensive.

Maybe suggesting to Yahoo! that they need to find a way to get deleted questions off of the stream, would help.

starting on July 4th, questions that were reported and deleted as being in violation are no longer removed from the open questions list of any category - you can scroll down the list through three weeks of Qs and see all the obvious violations that were moved to this category as offerings to reporters who indeed obliged adn reported AND deleted them

but they are stuck in the scroll when they normally they would be instantly removed

in the past, there were many times this glitch would pop up but the deleted Qs would eventually be removed usually no more than a few minutes to a few days at most

and if a certain person wants to dispute that, I can assure I know what I'm talking about from 3 years of reporting and what I deleted instantly disappearing from the list if you refreshed the page

now I can scroll down for three weeks and see Qs that I reported and deleted still there

the worst thing about this is not the irritation of wasting time scrolling through what now must be thousands of deleted violations but seeing the snippets which contain sexual vulagrity and profanity and not being able to get rid of it

I have sent screenshots to the Answers Team to let them know that this profanity and adult content is permanently there for all of us to see, literally pleading with them to fix the bug and remove the offensive material from their site but they never responded to my email

It IS very annoying & far from keeping the site clean it just clutters it up even more. There are way too many glitches & faults with the so called 'improved' format.

Don't know. It would seem like Yahoo would like them removed to free up some space.

We cannot get it changed. This is since the new format appeared.

They may be reinstated so they remain there until completely deleted.

I think they should be removed immediately though.
