Is this the end of Corrie for over half of the world's Christians?
Today's Daily Telegraph quotes Pope Francis as saying "Our life is made up of time, and time is a gift from God, so it is important that it be used in good and fruitful actions." Activities cited by the Pope as futile were: "chatting on the Internet or with smartphones, watching TV soap operas, and (using) the products of technological progress, which should simplify and improve the quality of life, but distract attention away from what is really important.
For those non-British/Irish contributors, Corrie is the pet name of the hyper-long-running British soap Coronation Street.

Corrie was supposed to be ended with that train de-railment. We can only hope it ends now.

We all have leisure activities for we need a distraction from the nitty gritty of life as well as our spiritual activities. If we are really busy we need to put some of our hobbies on hold.
But I think that Christians on the whole should be more careful what stuff they feed into their minds from TV, Books, DVDs etc Truly spiritual prayerful people will avoid trash media..

Say what!
Source(s): Ah, that 'splains it. I'd say the Pope's got a nugget of truth there.
