the male body and female/male desire conflict in movie?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbj8TrtPi04

On G/S it has been common in the past to talk about male nudity and if

women are really attracted to it,

now that video is a male film reviewer (not female) but i can use him as a counter point.

Talking about the male body, as visual spectacle.

However a key theme is one of male power and aggression, the boxers in

"Women in love", or the military conflict of "300".

Now those films had a pretty strong male audience

(same with the transporter movies)

the bodily spectacle only to show some form of better serving the needs of conflicting violence.

Twilight or magic mike, both movies about the male body, but the praise is effectively one of serving as a sexual canvas for heterosexual female desires as criteria to evaluates the male form, the body is not for war fighting but sex appeal in capacity.

A noticeable factor around them (more so for twilight) was quite a strong

culture of dislike primarily from males commentators (edward cullen is treated as being faggy or sissy, you get the general idea around "glitter-vamps" accusation

the question is a general, what do you think of that difference, things like is there sort of a contradiction in conflating a sexy man to a "female gaze" as being a homosexual, or not a totally male coded character (seemingly around being emo instead of a angry warrior)

I think the portrayal of sexy men varies for different types of the female or male cinema-going public. Yes there was a lot of hostility from men towards the Twilight actor, The Cullen chap. I don't understand it but a lot of men in GS have an issue with that. To me, he just appeals to a younger audience, in the same way that in the Die Hard films, Bruce Willis with his receding hair line and ripped vests, would have appealed to older women. To say he is a fantasy character is obvious as it's a fantasy film.

For me, a sexy character from a recent movie I'vr seen would be the main guy in Divergent, forgotten his name. Although there's no nudity, I'd bet my last dollar on him being a guy that many women would call sexy. You see, women don't need nudity to find a guy sexy, a sexy man will just exude sex appeal.

Glad you mentioned a new Jason Stathan film coming out, I'll be on the look-out. And if he wants to strip off and use his suit to fight his opponents, that's an added bonus.

Hardcore fans of the Kardashians and those that idolize them belong in Guantanamo to suffer. That you can't deny! Only idiots idolize talentless reality tv "stars" who endorse narcissism, causing drama, and getting as much plastic surgery done as possible!
