tax credit cuts thoughts?

To me it seems pointless - min wage pay about 13k the average working family (husband works f/t, wife p/t with 2 children) so in that situation they would be better off quitting and being on benefits (which is capped at 23k) which defeats the point and I don t think many employers will be rushing to give their employer a 7k pa payrise

Minimum wage jobs are entry level positions and were never intended as careers. People that went thru life partying, and gave no thought to what they wanted to be when they grow up, end up with these kind of dead in jobs. Now the ***** about their own bad life decisions, and want to make society pity them. I say pay a person what they are worth. If all a person does is wash dishes, or cooks burgers, that person isn't worth $13 per hour. Force people to learn skills that will earn them the money they need and want. Save the burger flipping for the High School students, or the retiree's that don't really need the money. Stop trying to turn low skill jobs into "careers".

"on benefits"? What kind of benefits are you talking about? According to 60 Minutes, even the hopelessly disabled who can't possibly work and desperately need medical care earn an average of $1200 a month from Social Security disability insurance. In my home state of Texas, disability is VERY hard to get. I volunteer in a psych/detox hospital. One hopelessly mentally ill woman was turned down for benefits in Texas over and over. When I lost contact with her, she had no car. She was living in the worst crack infested high crime area in my city. She knew she couldn't afford it for long, and she'd be homeless soon.

On a low income the family won't have to pay income tax and possibly receive a refund. They may be eligible for Food Stamps and Medicare.

Sounds like you got only half-a-lie from FOX FAKE "News" here and then didn't get it written down quite right.
