I have a pension that pays my mortgage. If I was to be made redundant or sacked would I get help to pay council tax?

Your pension is income, so if you were made redundant you would get redundancy pay so may not be able to claim JSA certainly not for a while, it may also stop you claiming any other benefit like CTB ( depends on your income/capital) if you were sacked it depends o if the sacking was deemed you deliberately making yourself unemployed or not so again the same applies.

CTB is income /capital based so it depends on what you have/are earning if you could get it or not

A pension is not special - it is simply taxable income. What you spend it on is your own affair.

If you lose your employment then you are free to register as a Jobseeker and apply for benefits. The income from your pension would be taken into account if you applied for "Earnings Related JobSeekers Allowance" - or rather when you applied for Universal Benefits.

If unemployed but with income you need to talk to the council for what allowances you MAY be entitled to.

    Not instantly or definitely

You'd need to speak to your local council to see whether you'd be eligible for council tax assistance; each has their own requirements.

Possibly. You would have to make a claim for council tax reduction and see what the council says.
