Is the English Premier League all about money and less about quality?

The problem football faces is that there is too much money in the game and a genuine lack of top class talent. Why else do you think that Martial cost United £36m and Benteke cost £32m? That said it is far too early to write off English teams in the Champions League. United probably won't come anywhere near to winning the competition but then people said that about Liverpool in 2004-2005 and look what happened...

City had a tough game against last season's runners up in Juventus and narrowly lost, but both teams still have enough games to win their group or failing that at least qualify.

No team in any elite football league anywhere in the world expects to win all their games in any given season.

If they do expect to do so, then they are stupid and bound to be disappointed.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City lost by a one goal margin, in the first game of the Premier Club Competition in the world.

It's no big deal, and it certainly does not mean that "... the EPL is very low on genuine quality. ...".

However, I am happy to advise you to stop watching it if you think the quality is that poor.

..... I doubt that anybody will miss you.

If you were to take the EPL best XI or best XXII against La Liga, Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Italian Serie A the EPL will most likely come in 4th. On the pitch they most likely would come in 5th.

However if you played the others non best in a tournament then then EPL would most likely be 1st.

The EPL is all about putting Black and Moslem players in your teams shirts and selling them as your team.
