    sin theta = 0.473

    sin is positive in quadrant 1 and 2

    theta = arcsin(0.473) = 0.49269 radians (28.23 degrees)

    The other solution is pi-0.49269 = 2.6489 radians (151.77 degrees)

    The general solution is:

    theta = 0.49269 + 2n pi (where n is any integer)

    theta = 2.6489 + 2n pi (where n is any integer)

    Simply compute arcsin(0.473). Usually that is the second function of the sin key on your calculator. Make sure your calculator is in Degree mode.

    sin θ = 0.473

    θ = arcsin(0.473)

    θ ≈ 28.2292099°

    Answer:

    28° (to the nearest whole degree)
