Restoring old Ford Transit. Can't get engine to start. Any ideas please ?

Friend is restoring 1976 Transit Diesel. Dry stored and in excellent condition.

Re-conditioned injectors, clean fuel. Engine turns over valve-gear working (belt intact). Compression, fuel at injectors, no air in system engine turning over with new battery. Apparently no heater plugs on this engine (2.4). Tried eze-start just 'coughs' but will not actually start. At wits end....!

Any ideas please.........??

The "re-conditioned injectors" part Is a little suspicious. Those things are very easy to mess up during installation.
