The best drug for Anxiety and depression ?

I've always had this disorder, even as a child. Eventually I became dependent on smoking weed heavily for about 17 years as a coping mechanism. While under the effects it was the best cure for depression, but in the long-run I think it caused even more problems. (turns out I was susceptible to forming psychosis from long term use of the drug.

I haven't seen any of my family for 8 years, I haven't had a single friend for 12 years. It got to the point I would just reject friend requests on all media such as Steam, LoL etc. Similarly, I would avoid anyone who engaged me OR any opportunities to make a new friendship.

I tired Zoloft years ago, but it did not help with either issue. It made me feel groggy and slow in the head. It also affected my ability to do tasks at work.

When I finally gave up weed, I turned into an alcoholic, And that became my new crutch. Continued that until I had kidney and liver issues. It has now been 13 years since I last smoked weed and 6 months since I had a drink, And I'm getting really depressed and my social life in non-existent.

My doctor just prescribed Lyrica for me, which I've used for two days now. It seems more capable of alleviating anxiety and depression (anxiety not so much) but it makes me feel very groggy just like Zoloft did.

Anyone know of a better drug to combat anxiety/depression that does't turn you into a zombie ? I ride motorcycles and I need my wits about me.

If Zoloft had such severe side effect. You should try another antidepressant. There a lots of them and sometimes you need to try several before finding the right one. Also some groggyness considered to be normal for a first week of taking the pill, then you would get used to the med and such side effects should be gone. If not-that means that the certain drug is not your best choice and you should try another one. Finding a good psychiatrist is essential. A good specialist will help to find the right med and the right dosage just for you. Cause everything is very individual.

Yea MDMA would work but it's pretty much meth and will kill you and your brain unfortunately all anxiety medicine take you to a different mind set that's not safe to drive on klonopin has been the best to me I still feel relatively sober but I don't care what people think of me while on it I don't have to worry

Weed!!! Keeps you calm and relaxed and helps fight anxiety. I'd say just roll a j and put on your favorite tv show. Or Netflix. And have fun.
