  • Bled Motorcycle Front Brake and now Dragging?

Hi all. The front brakes on my MC started to get really spongy so I loosened off the bleeder valve on the master cylinder and pumped the brakes a few times.

A few bubbles came out of the teet and the brakes became really stiff. So much so that it drags slightly on the rotor when pushing the bike forwards/backwards.

It feels like the lever has no dead zone or graduation at all now. The tiniest amount of pressure on the lever locks the front wheel. Feels a bit sketchy to me.

It occurred to me that I may have pumped the lever too many times when bleeding the cylinder and now there is not enough air to displace the fluid.

Question is: how do I get air back in the cylinder or is there any other trick to fixing this ?

Bike is a 2015 1290 superduke, if that matters.

  • If you have a full Motorcycle license, do you get any credits for obtaining a Car license ?

I've held my NSW black motorcycle license (full license) for 15 years and no violations/no demerits for at least 6 years.

Does this make it easier to obtain a Car license ?

  • Can a USB outlet be causing a Flat Battery ?

I have had a single USB running to my Battery for about 1 year with no problems. Soon after hooking up a 2nd identical outlet, water got in it and the fuse blew.

I have nothing attached to them, but it seems to be draining my battery.

Should I just get a better battery ?

PS: This is for a motorcycle. Cheers.

  • Is there any law against using crash protection as foot-pegs on a motorcycle ?

I have some Evotech frame sliders on my bike and on long trips it helps alleviate muscle ache and joint pain to put my feet up on them like you would a cruiser.

There is the obvious implication that my left foot has not got immediate access to the rear brake, but most of the breaking power is at the front brakes anyway.

I recently completed a long trip and doing this and didn't have any problems. Interestingly, I seem to be able to corner more fluidly, especially at high speeds.

    Any thoughts ?

  • Creationists: Why did God design invariable creatures to live in variable climates ?

We can now observe that the world has shifting climates, shifting landmasses even.

So what was the thought process of creating a specie with physical attributes suited for a particular climate, when it can change completely?

What is expected of this specie once that happens ? Was it God's plan just to let them die out due to it wreaking havoc on the eco-system ?

In the Arctic, we are losing 107 million km/2 of Ice each decade because of extreme changes in temperature.

What happens in 100 or so years when the climate becomes intolerable for it's normal inhabitants ?

Why didn't God account for this ?

  • Action Cam to replace Drift Ghost-S ?

Been using the Ghost-S for roughly 3 years. It's an okay camera, but it has a lot of shortcomings. The image quality is quite average. It has problems reading from and writing to memory. It complains intermittently about a low-speed SD-card even though I use the fastest one on the market. It has random moments where it gives a card error then fails to recover any files upon trying- this has happened with three different SD-cards.

It's just unreliable to say the least. The only thing I care about is good battery life, 50/60fps capture, reliability and preferably a compact design.

    Any recommendations ?

  • How do you become Non-superficial ?

I'll be straight up honest and admit I am quite superficial. My brain seems programmed that way. Sure, I value Intelligence and Personality and a range of other human traits, but when I look at a near perfectly formed human, I see more innate value in them and I can't help it!

I don't want to be this way, but it feels ingrained within me like it's genetically imprinted.

To my understanding, on a physical level, we humans have a built-in definition of what beauty is, with only slight variations in what is otherwise a very consistent consensus opinion on the features and symmetries that make an attractive or beautiful human. And we use this built-in database/profile to help evaluate potential genetic qualities in mates. For instance, a balding man is considered less attractive, but that un-attractiveness also perfectly coincides with our genetic reading, that being the baldness is a degenerative or genetic flaw, it's imperfect, it shows a weakness or abnormality.

So the primal part of our brain takes a few points off for that, since it's sole purpose is to identify good or positive genetic traits for reproductive purposes.

Another correlation here is that I am admittedly a very sexual person and also very intimate or touchy-feely kind of guy. I can easily see how that ties in to how I see and value people based on their appearance or ability.

  • Am I the only one with a fear of Riding Motorcycles ?

I've been riding motorcycles for 25 odd years. I consider myself a half-decent rider. With a good understanding of defensive riding technique and road-craft. I can even do alright wheelies on both my SM and road bike.

But I have this problem. I never ride unless there's a reason to ride. Like going to get groceries or picking up something. I have two lovely fun bikes, but hardly ever ride them.

I have this nervousness whenever I think about going for a ride. Like there is pressure on me. Part of that might stem from my awareness of the stigma associated with Motorcycle rider's. The general impression I get when riding is all car driver's hate me and they think I'm a jerk.

I picture them in their cars sniveling at me with disdain. And a lot of the time people don;t want to drive behind or near me, like I'm about to do something reckless or stupid.

I sit here in my room on a perfectly good day for riding, but that fear and pressure keeps me trapped in my room. It's not that I don't enjoy riding, I actually really enjoy it, but seemingly only when I'm on a mission to do something and in my mind it makes the ride justifiable or purposeful, which takes some of that pressure off of me.

Still, any trip I take I am constantly thinking about what car drivers think of me, how they are judging me and I hardly ever think to just enjoy it.

Anyone else have this issue, did you overcome it ?

  • A question to all Non-Masturbater's: How do you turn off your physical Urges ?

I've always wondered if there was any truth at all to people saying they don't Masturbate, especially in the context that they also have no sex-life.

I mean, I can't last more than 5 days and my loins are literally on fire and my junk becomes increasingly more sensitive to touch.

I personally started masturbating at the age of 12 or 13. During that period of time when sexual relations aren't acceptable, there are people still saying they never Masturbate or never have Masturbated. An assertion typically made by religious church-going types.

So I ask those special few: How did you turn off your basic biological functions and abstain from releasing sexual tension ?

  • Legalities behind running an Orange light ?

I was reading an article that states the following:

"It’s an offence to run an orange light if police deem you had time to stop safely. The penalty is the same as for a red light, carrying three demerit points and a fine of up to $425 in some states."

Then followed up by this statement by the police, which I found devoid of all logic:

"calm down. It’s not worth running a light … because you’ll only get stopped at the next one. Running a light is especially dangerous because it puts you on a direct course with someone else’s driver’s door at speed."

What the hell ? Unless the intersection is the length of 2 football fields and you are traveling at 10kph, there is absolutely no conceivable way that you can T-bone a car while running an Orange light. The Green light for opposing traffic doesn't register until seconds after the Red light has initiated for the other party- More than enough time to traverse any intersection known to exist.

    Blatant moronic revenue politics.

  • Online Pharmacy Rxpillsstock.com Scam ?

Was thinking of ordering through these guys, but not sure if it's safe or even legal.

My doctor prescribed Kalma for me, but would only give very small amounts 0.5 mg, And refuses to give me any more.

I find this drug very helpful for my condition, and a far better alternative to excessive alcohol consumption and other illegal substances. Since taking it I've never felt better and it also helps my insomnia.

So as you can imagine I'm getting desperate. Does anyone have any experience buying prescription meds from online pharmacies ? Is it legal/safe ?

  • Have you ever had thoughts of swapping places with unfortunate people ?

I'm not rich or even wealthy, but I often think myself very lucky to be born in a country where people aren't in conflict and where sickness, poverty isn't rampant.

Often I find myself wanting to trade places with some poor unfortunate person so they can experience a nice hot meal in comfort and indulge in things most people take for granted.

Would you trade places with someone who is in a world of hurt, even for a little while just so you can share the quality of life you lucked out on ?

  • Can Nothingness Exist ?

Let's say we were to traverse past the entire universe to where there are no galaxies or space, even if it was crystal clear and had no boundary, for a human or object to traverse into nothingness means the space in which the object resides is usable space which is something.

Or does nothing only become something when something interacts with it ?

    What do you think ?

  • The best drug for Anxiety and depression ?

I've always had this disorder, even as a child. Eventually I became dependent on smoking weed heavily for about 17 years as a coping mechanism. While under the effects it was the best cure for depression, but in the long-run I think it caused even more problems. (turns out I was susceptible to forming psychosis from long term use of the drug.

I haven't seen any of my family for 8 years, I haven't had a single friend for 12 years. It got to the point I would just reject friend requests on all media such as Steam, LoL etc. Similarly, I would avoid anyone who engaged me OR any opportunities to make a new friendship.

I tired Zoloft years ago, but it did not help with either issue. It made me feel groggy and slow in the head. It also affected my ability to do tasks at work.

When I finally gave up weed, I turned into an alcoholic, And that became my new crutch. Continued that until I had kidney and liver issues. It has now been 13 years since I last smoked weed and 6 months since I had a drink, And I'm getting really depressed and my social life in non-existent.

My doctor just prescribed Lyrica for me, which I've used for two days now. It seems more capable of alleviating anxiety and depression (anxiety not so much) but it makes me feel very groggy just like Zoloft did.

Anyone know of a better drug to combat anxiety/depression that does't turn you into a zombie ? I ride motorcycles and I need my wits about me.

  • Something is terribly wrong with me, anyone have any ideas ?

It started almost 3 weeks ago. I was getting sharp shooting pains in my hands fingers, arms- prodominantly in the left side. It has worsened and I get stabbing pains all over my body now. Feels like a needle moving through my veins and/or bone.

I've also experienced acute pain in the Jaw , the lower jaw and below the ears. Two types of sensations; sharp shooting pains and a feeling like you tried to stop a sneeze and it forced pressure in a cavity in your face.

The last two days I've been really weak and sore, and periodic cold flushes running through my entire body, And that terrible feeling like my blood is running cold. I was also shivering the other night and was hugging the heater until my legs were burnt. My Veins seems more visible than usual, they look very dark blue and I see traces of veins where usually I wouldn't.

I had blood tests a few days ago, but still no results. Feels like my body is shutting down from some kind of infection. Anyone know what is happening to me ?

  • Almost 40 and never held a car licence - Can I go straight for practical without lessons/hours ?

I've held a motorcycle licence for roughly 22 years, but never went for a car licence. I can drive manual transmission cars quite easily and have extensive road safety knowledge.

If I can pass the practical driving test with flying colors, do I still need to pay for lessons and have many hours experience ?
