How long will refrigerated hermetically sealed Tofu keep for ?

Use-by date is Jun of this year. Would it be safe to cook and eat ?

Update:

Well I couldn't find any conclusive information for this particular circumstance, but I did cook it on a grill for 15 minutes, it smelled okay but tasted really bad so I tossed it. It was either off, or was just some nasty tasting Tofu.

    Use by dates are for quality only, has the company got a website?

    Six months out of date is pretty long for a perishable item.
