if you multiply anything by 3 and then 1/3, you will get the same as what you started with

Assuming you don't have calculator, try either of these two ways: 3 1/3 = 10/3 so multiply £526,427 by 10 and divide that by 3 and you get £1,754,756.60; alternatively multiply by 3 and to calculate 1/3, divide by 3 and add both answers

£526,427 x 3 1/3 =
£526,427 x 10/3 =
£5264270 / 3 =

526427 * (3 1/3)
3 1/3 =>
(3 * 3 + 1) / 3 =>
10/3
526427 * (10/3)
526427 / 3 =>
(526425 + 2) / 3 =>
526425 =>
510000 + 16425 =>
510000 + 15000 + 1425 =>
510000 + 15000 + 1200 + 225
(510000 + 15000 + 1200 + 225 + 2) / 3 =>
510000/3 + 15000/3 + 1200/3 + 225/3 + 2/3 =>
170000 + 5000 + 400 + 75 + 0.666666666..... =>
175475.6666666......
Multiply by 10, so just shift the decimal point over one place
1754756.666666666.....

Use a calculator.
Calculate 1/3, then add 3, then multiply that by 526,427.
Round off to £1,754,756.67
