  • I'm confused about data roaming abroad!?

I'm trying to find out whether data roaming should be switched on or off. I phoned my network provider on 2 separate occasions, one lady said it should be OFF.... then on another call (as I was still confused), said it should be switched ON...unless you are using free wifi?

Can anyone explain in layperson's terms please.

  • Annoying 'friend' just got back in contact!!?

A girl I used to work with latched herself onto me. As she was a new person at work I obviously included her in lunches and such like with other members of staff. However, she didn't make any attempt to make her own work-friends and she targeted all of her attention onto me! I have since left that job (not because of her, but was relieved I didn't have to see her every day).

She is essentially a nice person but incredibly NEEDY and quite immature (she is 40). She started to bombard me with texts and emails, send me gifts and all the time looking for assurances for this and that etc.

She is a devout Christian so I encouraged her to join a church / local group etc which she did, but she said she couldn't connect with the people there. So I said, try a different church! So you see, how she started relying on me for advice etc in everything!.

It finally got too much and I began to limit my contact with her as I felt so stifled by it. I didn't reply to all her texts/email bombardments but told her as nicely as I could that she was too much and gradually she didn't contact me. There is so much more to tell but you're limited on here to x amount of words!

I got a letter from her yesterday asking to go for a coffee 'no pressure'. Quite an old fashioned way of contact but I don't know what to make of it? Any advice is welcome, but I really don't want to get back into the 'friendship' as it took over my life.

    Helpful advice welcome.

  • Bright I'm booking a hotel in Brighton working out hotel costs.?

There is an odd number of us, 7 ladies in total have said they want to go. I've found a hotel which is fairly reasonable.

The total cost for 4 double rooms is £744 which means, 3 double rooms with 2 people sharing and 1 double room with only 1 person (cost is the same whether double or single room bizarrely).

How do I fairly work this out between the 7 of us bearing in mind the odd number?

  • What is the difference between Microsoft Office eurozone and MS office English?

I need to buy 'Microsoft Office Home & Business 2013 Medialess' for my boss, and I've searched on Amazon and Ebay and some them show with 'eurozone'? Does that mean it's not compatible with the English version? Sorry techno-phobe here!!!

  • Small Surrey Wedding Venues?

Does anyone know of any smallish wedding venues in the Surrey area? I'm trying to find something unique for myself and my partner.

    1. We'd love a barn or cottage that you could hire for a civil ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception.

    2. Exclusive venue, we've looked at hotels and from what we've seen they're not very private.

    3. preferably where there is accommodation on site (hence the hire of a barn or cottage venue?

    The budget is £10,000

Any suggestions, I would be very grateful.

    xx

  • Has anyone every experienced sleep paralysis and hallucinations?

Last night my partner had gone to bed (about 11pm) and I was downstairs watching the television and I heard my partner murmuring upstairs. I didn't think anything of it at first, as he snores very loudly when he drops off to sleep. Then I heard him shouting 'help me, help me'. I ran upstairs (the bedroom door was closed) but when I ran into the bedroom he was incredibly distressed.

This sounds rather comical now, but I can assure you he was very VERY upset and frightened! He said he felt a presence on top of him on the bed. It was a woman and she was naked and he said he could physically feel her bare leg, (he actually thought it was me!) and he said it felt like 'she' was a really heavy weight on top of his chest. Anyway, it really freaked me out let alone him. Our cat, who usually sleeps on the bed with us at nights, was completely un-fazed and was just curled up asleep on the bed as usual. Needless to say we slept with the lights on all night!

I just don't know what to make of it all other than he was very tired, we'd been out for a curry so we'd had a lot to eat that evening.

Is this sort of thing common?

  • My partner and I are making a joint Will, I'm not sure if this is fair?

    Nothing has been signed yet.

When he dies he wants his daughter to inherit half our house, of course that is fair, however he wants her to inherit her half immediately after his death rather than wait until after we both die.

So what does that mean for me if he dies first? Do I have to find half the money to buy her out? Or face selling the house ? I don't think that is fair and would rather she inherits her rightful half after we are both dead.

Don't get me wrong I love my partner dearly but to think if he dies I will not only be going through a bereavement but I may lose my home is very worrying.

Please let me know if you think this is unfair too.

  • I am in such a dilemma. I am going through the menopause and I am trying not to go down the HRT Route.?

My periods stopped a year ago, at that time I was having hot sweats, then they would stop for about a month or so, and stupid me thought aah that wasn't too bad. How wrong I was! I am now having on average about 15 hot sweats during the day, and at night time it's even worse. and I rarely get a good night's sleep. I am drenched with sweat all through the night, I just feel like I am one sweaty mess ALL the time. I work in an office and it's really embarassing when I'm sitting there with a bright red face, drenched with sweat (not just my face, buy all over my body - I'm inwardly screaming as I'm so bloody boiling hot).

I've just started taking Menopace Plus, it's early days (only just over a week), but the sweats are still attacking ALL the time.

I'm trying not to go down the HRT route as I'd like to try natural remedies.

Has anyone tried Serenity Creme from Wellsprings? There are some pretty good customer feedback comments on their website, but I would rather hear it from a 'real' person. By the way, you can't use this creme if you are taking herbal menopausal substitutes.

I was also going to try Red Clover? You can apparently take this with Menopace tablets.

Any advice on Herbal versus HRT would be really welcome, I am at my wit's end trying to cope.

    I know I'm not alone!

    Serious answers only please.

  • My partner is obsessed with his 19 year old daughter.?

My partner is obsessed with his 19 year old daughter and it's having a major affect on our relationship and his relationship with his family.

Please note his obsession is not in any way shape or form of a sexual nature.

When his daughter was born, his then wife was very possessive and would not let him have proper contact with her. He worked long hours trying to provide for his family and would often arrive home after his baby daughter was asleep in bed and leave very early in the morning before she would be woken up.

He divorced his wife when his daughter was 14 years old.

He has never had a close relationship with his daughter, but spoils her as if money is no object as far as he is concerned.

His daughter has attachment problems and cannot be independent of her mother. In her 19 years, she has never stayed away on her own, or had sleep over’s at friend’s houses or been on holiday with friends, or been on school outings where an overnight stay would be involved, as she gets physiclally sick. She does not even stay with us overnight (even at 19 years of age).

It is as if he puts his daughter on a pedestal and she is perfect in every way.

He cannot stand any criticism of her and has actually said to me, if it came to choosing between his daughter and ‘others’, he would choose his daughter over everyone (me, his mother, his family).

I don’t have a relationship with his daughter; I think it is because of they way she has been molly coddled all these years. Unfortunately I see her as spoiled and very manipulating with her parents which is very sad.

We had a family meal out recently and his daughter was nearly an hour late. We were all sitting there waiting to order our food, when she stomped in, didn’t apologise, threw a strop all evening. My partner did not say a word to her! I was fuming and said a few things, which in my opinion needed to be said. When we got home, my partner went into the living room and slammed the door. I went up to bed, and left him asleep all night downstairs. He stormed out this morning, I have no idea where he’s gone. I did speak to him and he verbally laid into me and has tried to turn it around on me!

This is normal. I know he’s angry because I dared speak my mind about his daughter’s rude behaviour.

Short of us splitting up over this, I don’t think he will change. Can I make him see that how he is being with his daughter is unhealthy on them both?

    Please please help
