Yes or No answers are considered by many as a non answer and they will take them down because they believe it is a violation. Since you appealed and lost both appeal Yahoo must have felt the same way as the trusted member who report it. The community guideline does not say directly yes or no is a violation but it does say and I quote: If a post is neither a question nor an answer, it doesn't belong here. You didn't say how the question was written so given you an answer why is impossible for use.
I also don't agree with the decisions made on many appeals. If you seen an appeal notice it is signed by a South Asian name who's first language is not English. That troubles me. I had an appeal like you denied and I resubmitted it used the help menu and won doing that. So it seem to be a matter of opinion and not rules that they follow.

Why is it that every question you asked is about how abused you are by people enforcing the posting rules against you here?

One word answers that answer the question posed, are NOT automatically violations, no matter how much the Hall Monitors may insist otherwise. Context is important. For example, at least a couple people in this stream of answers are technically in violation because their response is NOT answering your question, to wit "Where does it say a 1 word answer is unacceptable?" The answer to that question is: No where.

And by the way, 4 out of the last 10 questions posed or highlighted by the Yahoo Answers Team are "yes or no" questions. Just saying...

It's really hard to say without seeing an example of the one word answer that was used.

If the Appeals were Denied Yahoo Answers Staff found the Violation
In Some Situations 1 word Answers are Unacceptable
Generally Speaking 1 Word answers are not a good idea people will think that your cheating or just posting to get the Points
If you posted something like Yes or No
Your Better off adding a little more then that Explain a Reason to Back it up why is it a Yes or Why is it a No

This is considered as a misuse of the Q&A violation, the very reason why you got the violation.

Many people consider one word answers to be chat violations. IF someone asks a "yes?no" questions, the a either
es" or "no' as one word answer is legitimate answer.. However that odes not matter wo whoever OR WHATEVER denied the appeal..
Look at the copyright year on Denial email. is it 2015 or ealrier.. is there a personal NAME in that email./ Yahoo has laid off everyone. Verizon very likely has hired only a few Yahoo employees. Verizon has owned Yahoo and YA since June.. I suspect those denied appeals may not be coming from either Yahoo or Verizon. Since Yahoo's security was breached in 2011 and 2013, i suspect security may never have been fully restored.
I know it really sucks when an appeal is denied, but there's not much anything can do about it., since there is no longer a Yahoo appeals board and no one knows if th Verizon really has created Yahoo Abuse Teams or not.. since all the denied AND accepted appeals emails come from customer care but often say the come from the Yahoo Answers teams in the body of the email. Tha Answers were LAID OFF... The U.K. Answers team siad goodbye on the OLD suggestion board before it was shut down in 2014..
At least you still have your level 7 account.

No idea but if someone is targeting your answers that is a problem. I've had a person who follows some of my questions and reports them.
