Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?

    No, Mr Henry

Patrick Henry was a radical and fanatic in the run up to independence. And a hypocrite. For all his high talk about slavery, he was a slaveowner and freed none in his will. He opposed the Constitution's ratification. He wanted to start a new republic in the western lands. He was far more a Confederate at heart than a Federal.

It can be dear and sweet; but not necessarily with slavery.

Slavery was an awful thing supported by the horrible liberals
