Why are so many actors, and people from other countries commenting and having opinions on US Politics?

American advertise their culture on T.V. and magazines and car culture and religious intolerance for all the world to see. We want to ignore you when we can and do our best to do so. Many times we are successful provided we do not read a newspaper or magazine or turn on a TV.or computer.

Because, ex president Obama, traveled world wide and told them to. He opened Pandora's Box.

Because our political activities impact the entire world through trade, military actions and world resources. We are the tough rich kid on the playground wearing the coolest shoes. We as Americans are also dismissive of world issues that have no immediate impact on our daily lives.

Celebrities participate because they can. They want to be seen and heard.

I live in Australia and we are bombarded with political news from USA daily. It is only natural to comment and discuss it. Perhaps if there was another President then it may not hold our interest so much but he puts himself out there with outrageous statements that can impact on other countries. People are entitled to their opinions. Unfortuntely many people in other countries seem to know more about America than many Americans.

I love to discuss international politics with people from other countries, but I guess instead of educating the people of Scotland about the issues in America you acted as the arrogant American. "My country is too important for you ignorant foreigners to concern yourselves with and it isn't worth my time learning anything about your puny country." Is that how it was? No very humble, IMO

We don't live in a bubble. The US is a WORLD POWER. What the US says and does affects the economies (trade, jobs, incomes, standards of living), security (military, immigration, terrorism), culture (TV, movies, music, media), and freedom (speech, press, religion, human rights) of countries all over the world. Knowledge is better than ignorance.

The fact is WE should be educating ourselves about other countries and not be afraid to ask questions and politely speak our minds. Otherwise foreign countries will think it is OK to murder and dismember American residents and journalists, just because our orange freak in the White House thinks we should let other countries do what they want.

We're 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, 3rd in median household income, number 4 in labor force, and number 4 in exports. We lead the world in only 3 categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined. 25 of whom are allies. But you, nonetheless, are without a doubt a member of the worst, period, generation, period, ever, period, so when you ask, "What makes us the greatest country in the world?" The world's much smaller than you think, and all nations are interlaced in ways you probably can't even dream of, because, in your question you show a certain small-mindedness.

People will often say this about their country whilst innocently and absentmindedly commenting on what goes on in other countries whether they know them or not. Don't tell me you haven't heard someone in US opine about African countries, or Muslim ones. It's unrealistic not to have opinions about other countries. The world is displayed daily in media and never has it been easier to be informed about policies and traditions in other countries. You are very naive.

Because you lived in Scotland for a few years snd the Scots with whom you conversed seemrd to have little or no knowlege of the government and policies of the US, all prople from all other countries know nothing about the US?

Because people have apparently made ignorant comments about the region in which you grew up, everybody makes ignorant comments about other stead in which they have not lived?

As for Hollywood people commenting, look at who is in the White House. He is a Hollywood person. All US citizens have the right to exercise their First Amendment rights.
