How can I fix my New 3DS?

I have a New 3DS (small version) that won't turn on. I didn't install any homebrew or custom firmware. What could be wrong with it and how can I troubleshoot or fix it?

Call Nintendo for troubleshooting & potentially get a repair / replacement ticket started (as Nintendo's does reserve the right to send a replacement system of similar color & specs in lieu of repairing yours, mostly to keep turnaround times reasonable). If your system is still under warranty, the only cost involved will be for shipping to send it in.

Please be aware that all repair / replace tickets have a general turnaround time of about 3 weeks.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CONTACT NINTENDO FIRST for the troubleshooting as they can check to see if you really need to send it in & if it's covered under warranty. Sending your system in WITHOUT a repair ticket will likely cause your system to be sent back "as is" as their repair center has no idea what is potentially wrong with your system.

For the US & Canada, their toll-free number is 1-800-255-3700. If you live elsewhere, check the toll free number on the back of your system.

It's cheap enough and easy enough to try to swap out the battery with a new one.

If that doesn't work, then you may need to contact Nintendo Support to have it repaired.
