Will I Get An Adult Wristband At Cancun?

Chances are they will not give you an adult wrist band. It varies between each resort. When we stayed at Riu I was asked if my 18 year old son should have an adult wristband or a child one. Some of the other resorts we stayed at didn't even give him the option and was given a child wristband.

Ask them when you check in. I'm sure you can go back when you turn 18 and get an adult wristband. They WANT to sell you drinks.

Most, if not all family resorts in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera follow the government imposed rules and law. If they are caught serving an underage individual, they can be heavily fined, and lose their license. If you are turning 18 while you are at the resort, then head for the main desk of the hotel with your passport in hand, and ask for an adult wristband. Security in the resorts are quit strict. Some you will see, and others blend in with the vacationers. This is a place where you don't want to get into trouble, cause problems for your parents or cause problems for employees of the resort.
