When compared with other wireless controller from competitors & it's within reason.

Sony's OFFICIAL PS4 wireless controllers are currently going for $50.

Microsoft's OFFICIAL XBox One wireless controllers are currently going between $50 - $70, depending on color & style. HOWEVER, they also have their Elite controller (considered the "Platinum Standard" for PC controllers) that goes for $150.

Nintendo's OFFICIAL Switch wireless controller sets (JoyCons) are going for $60 with the Pro controller around $70... which isn't that far off price-wise.

You could always go with wired & third party options, which are more affordable by comparison, but your mileage will vary with them.

Have you seen the price of other controllers out there? It's on par.

Quick answer: you are not only paying for the controller.
