Is saving money really worth it?

You know how when your growing up everybody tells you to save money. For what? What good does it do a person to have it locked away? Makes no sense.

When you become an adult, you get hit very hard with financial struggles. You have to pay for housing, food, and your vehicle (if you have one). Having it saved up as a child gives you a good start when the time comes when you have to pay for everything. People tend not to care if you save your money once you reach the age of majority, because you usually don't have a choice but to spend it then. If you're not an adult yet, be prepared for all the things that will suck up your money in the future. Trust me, it isn't fun and games.

Overall, yes, it is definitely worth saving money.

For when you don't have new money coming in anymore. The savings should help you eat and have a roof over your head if no nee money is coming in.

You might argue to set your money free by investing your money to make you more money. Not an awful idea but savings wirks a back stop against a market crash/recession were your investments just tank in value.

Of course it's worth it. If you have a target such as a new car it's far better to save up for it than shell out a fortune in interest charges. Cash is king when negotiating a car purchase.
