What were you taught? Which of the following places will have people living there forever? 1.  Heaven? 2.  Hell? 3.  Purgatory? 4.  Earth?

The Lake of Fire is eternal and the fallen angels, demons, and those that reject the atonement made for them by the blood of Yeshua will be tormented there for eternity.

All of creation as we know it will be burned by fire and destroyed. A new heavens and a new earth will be created and a new Jerusalem will come down from the new heavens onto the new earth and that is where we will spend eternity with God.

A) What were you taught? Which of the following places will have people living there forever? 1.  Heaven? 2.  Hell? 3.  Purgatory? 4.  Earth?

1 - I've been taught that there will be people living forever in Heaven.

2 - I've never been taught that there will be people living forever in Hell. I've been taught various things about Hell from various sources (including, from one source, that Hell is merely another word for "the common grave of mankind"). The Bible is clear: the people in "the lake of fire" will suffer eternal torment, and the Bible identifies that condition as "the second death" (not as "living forever", in fact just the opposite.) Almost all Christians equate this eternal punishment for the wicked with "Hell". That is to say: that is THE primary meaning of the word "Hell" in English, and most Christians use that word with that meaning.

3 - As far as I know, only Roman Catholics teach Purgatory, and they do NOT teach that anyone will be consigned to Purgatory forever. To the contrary, they teach that everyone in Purgatory will eventually enjoy eternal life in Paradise.

4 - I've been taught by Jehovah's Witnesses that there will be people living forever on Earth - that is: on the current planet Earth, which will not ever suffer destruction. This directly contradicts plain and clear Bible teaching.

B) The King James Version has the word “Hell” while other translations have “Sheol,” “Hades,” or “Grave” in place of the word “Hell.”

1 - Sheol - The Hebrew word "sheol" is fairly ambiguous and is used ambiguously by the Bible authors. That is: it does NOT always have the same one meaning in every Bible passage in which it appears. Sometimes it means "grave" (clearly from the context). Sometimes it means "the land of the dead" (clearly from the context). Etc. Better Bible translations translate it precisely when the precise meaning is incontestable and transliterate it (render it "Sheol") when the precise meaning is contestable and/or when the meaning is "land of the dead" (for the sake of conciseness, which is, unfortunately, a hugely important consideration in Bible translation).

2 - Hades - The Greek word "hades" is NOT ambiguous in it's Biblical usage. It ALWAYS means "the land of the dead". It did NOT have the meaning "grave" in the Biblical period (but, note, did acquire that meaning centuries AFTER the Biblical documents were authored). Better Bible translations always transliterate the word as "Hades" (for the sake of conciseness).

3 - Hell - Is the classic English word with the meaning "land of the dead", and that is why archaic English translations typically use "Hell" to translate "Sheol" and "Hades". However: that meaning of "Hell" is hardly ever used in modern English and so modern, scholarly translations only use "Hell" when referring to "the place of eternal punishment for the wicked".

The Earth.

I was raised in the Church of Christ, then I read Psalms 37:29 which says: The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Said to myself Church of Christ along with other religions say that you go to hell or heaven when you die. Someone has to be lying man and woman lie but the Bible does not.

This is the truth that I found from studying the King James Bible 62 yrs. ago.

Jehovah has wonderful things in store for those who love him! Just look at what his Word says about life on the Paradise earth after this corrupt system is did away with. 

Plenty of food to eat: “There will come to be plenty of grain [or, food] on the earth; on the top of the mountains there will be an overflow.” Psalm 72:16. 

Good housing: “They will certainly build houses and have occupancy.” Isaiah 65:21. 

Enjoyable work: “The work of their own hands my chosen ones will use to the full. They will not toil for nothing.” Isaiah 65:22, 23. 

No sickness: “No resident will say: ‘I am sick.’” Isaiah 33:24. 

No disabilities: “At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened, and the very ears of the deaf ones will be unstopped. At that time the lame one will climb up just as a stag [a male deer] does, and the tongue of the speechless one will cry out in gladness.” Isaiah 35:5, 6. 

No pain, sorrow, death: “God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4. 

No war: “God is making wars to cease to the extremity of the earth.” Psalm 46:9. 

Everlasting life: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.” Psalm 37:29.

there will be a New Earth.... and those humans who have their place in Heaven will be allowed to go to the New Earth... and the rest of this universe........ hell is a word that can be used for different meanings.............. The hell is a place that has been prepared, by God, for the eternal confinement, and punishment, of those immortal beings who have rebelled against God.... and those immortals who may latter violate God's Law.... that place is not yet occupied.... but it will be after the forces of evil have been, utterly defeated ......... humans are not immortal, so no humans will be sent to hell....... those humans who are found worthy by God will be given immortal bodies... and those will be subject to God's Law , and the penalties for violating them........ those humans who are not worthy will be disposed of.... they will cease to exist.... that is the true death......

only those who come to The Creator God in The Way He prescribes will be granted entry into Heaven....

there is no purgatory

The truth is that I received no religious instruction of any kind as a child. Everything I know about the Word of God has been learned from the age of 27. I have been studying the Bible ever since. People are born with a body but we are also a soul that consists of the mind, the will and emotions. The body is temporal, the soul is eternal. Once the body dies the soul continues to exist . Jesus spoke of the inestimable value of the human soul and simultaneously taught that soul and body will be reunited. We will continue to do so for eternity either in Heaven or in a place that was created for all those that have rejected the love of God.

Heaven and Hell are final and forever; Purgatory is temporary. All the souls in purgatory are saved and will be in heaven eventually.
