I'm an American citizen. Do I have to pay UK tax on my income?
I'm an American citizen with income of 70,000 pounds. My employer has withheld tax and pension. Can I argue against the withholding? I'm a US citizen and do not plan on living here after September.

You will owe UK tax on your income and will get a credit for it when you file your USA tax return.

Of course you pay national insurance and tax on any income earned in the UK, regardless of where you are from........

If you're working and earning money in the UK, you pay tax and make National Insurance contributions - these are non-optional.
A pension is an employer-provided benefit, and you can opt out of this.

If you live there, yes you pay tax there., just like a UK citizen living in the US pays US tax.

While you are here in the UK you are are using our services, so you pay tax the same as the rest of us.

You have to pay the tax, you can opt out of the pension and get that back. It's not withholding, in the UK employed people have their tax done for them unlike the US, it's passed on and not withheld.

If you work in the UK then you pay taxes on your earnings, simple as that.
