Nostradamus was like a middle ages astrology column writer, with everything he said deliberately vague and open to interpretation.
The translations are often very poor and even then they have been rewritten by charlatans after the events to make it look as though the predictions have come true.

The quatrains he wrote used many anagrams, backwards-written names & other arcane tricks to obscure meanings. He did so deliberately so as to not enrage the King or other powerful members of the royal court or the clergy. They are all of sufficient ambiguity that, over the centuries, people have been able to read almost anything that they wanted to from them. The fact is that he seems not to have predicted anything - not even to such a degree as to equal mere chance. In fact, he predicted that the King's son would live to age 90: The son actually died at age 32, before the King himself died. That meant that the King had no successor.

Maybe. The False Trumpet trembles with discord,
Agreement broken,...
The mouth fills with blood, The face anointed with milk and honey
Falls to the ground, the face turned towards heaven ..
