Taking one sin to indulge in intolerance, hatred, bigotry, homophobia and persecution will never be acceptable in the eyes of God!
Christian leaders from around the world have clearly stated their opposition to the "victimization or diminishment" of gays and lesbians, saying demonizing and persecuting them was "totally against Christian charity and basic principles of pastoral care".
"We say that no one should have to live in fear because of the bigotry of others."
Christianity is not about hating others but about worshiping the LOVING GOD!!!!!!!
Marriage is and always has been a matter of civil law! Whilst churches are allowed to carry out the service it must be in complete compliance with that law and any deviation or omission would make the marriage null and void and probably involve criminal offenses!
Christians seeking to dictate to non believers is seriously damaging Christianity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pope can, but he did not even fire the pedo priests.

The Pope did not express support for gay marriage. He expressed support for same sex unions as opposed to marriage, from what I gather.
I suppose the Pope might be able to fire him, but he is very unlikely to do so.

There is no such thing as gay marriage. If you think that marriage between two people of the same sex automatically means they are gay, then you have an awful lot to learn.

In the Catholic Church, a bishop, priest, or deacon may be dismissed from the clerical state as a penalty for certain grave offences, or by a papal decree granted for grave reasons. ... Canon law was amended in March 2019 to also allow loss of clerical state for clergy who are members of, and desert, a religious community.
