Is algo trading illegal under J-1 visa?
I am curious whether algo trading completely automated by a robot is illegal under J1 visa rules. Thank you.

Your J-1 visa requires you to work under the sponsorship of your employer and be working full time for him. But it is never illegal to invest your savings. Beware, active day trading can tip you into an IRS trap where you are considered to be earning your living rather than investing so you would be taxed on it as income. That would be a problem.
