Was catfished lot of money, can she be charged?

2 years ago I found a lady and in agreement I sent her $2,500 and she agreed to help me get my visa to live in Australia permanently by marrying me. She sent me her license and address and I sent the money. I still have all texts etc. After sending her the money I never heard back from her. It's been 2 yrs and now I want to go to the police here and get her in prison. Now I have permanent residency I can do that. Will she be arrested and put in prison? Even though it's been long time?

This is why people rob drug dealers. No, you can't charge someone for refusing to commit immigration fraud on your behalf.

Frist of all she is probably not even Australian or a woman for that matter. Second and more importantly, you will get your residency jeopardized because the post indicates you were looking to acquire a card fraudulently. The person that scammed you was a con artist.

No, she won't be charged because she will be hard to find, and it will be even harder to prove that you lost money to her.  She was a scam artist and sadly you fell for it.  Of course she will not go to prison. You never heard back from her after you sent the money, which is always the case.  Texts alone are not proof that she committed fraud, and, no one will bother looking into your texts from two years ago.  If anything, you'd be laughed at and arrested for bringing up your attempt to get your visa from her, so don't do it.

So you want to have someone prosecuted for agreeing to help you commit a crime? You will be arrested and put in jail if you tell the police this story.

You will be charged with attempted fraud to gain legal immigration status

You 'agreed' to commit fraud, you took action to commit fraud, so you did as much to break the law as she did....you both will be in legal trouble

You'd also be in trouble, as you were similarly looking to break the law... visa fraud is illegal

Getting married to move to a country is HIGHLY illegal.  The fact that you were catfished trying to do something illegal is not something you should tell the police about.
