Is it okay to simply not mail my kids birthday party invitations and not tell her because I don’t feel up for hosting a party this year?

Think about your question. Really think about it. What do you think? Just talk to your kid, dude.

Be upfront.
" Sweetheart, there will be no birthday party this year because there is this deadly pandemic that has killed over a million people all over the world. "

Kids are as smart as adults. They know what’s going on. They can see it with this virtual learning stuff. Tell them there’s a pandemic and it’s not safe to have a party. Just be straight up with her about it.

You tell your child that due to COVID restrictions the party will be a "Drive by" party.
Have the parents drive by your house at a specific time and at some point have a table with bags of favors you can hand to the kids through the car window.
You do not host a party at this time. Unless you can hold it out doors and make sure all the kids and any parents wear masks at ALL time unless they are eating.

Umm... Kids aren't stupid, stop treating yours like they are! Just tell her she can't have a party this year because of covid. What you're planning to do will literally cause them trauma because they'll end up thinking that none of their friends like them! How could you be such an evil wench?!

You have to tell your kids. Recentlly, everyone need to avoid a group because of CORONA virus. I think, your kids is absolutely waiting birthday!! So, you have to tell your kids. And, you should spend with only family. Have fun:)

So you would rather-
1) have your child think that no one likes her when she sees no one come to her birthday party
2) find out no one got an invitation and that basically you lied about it.
FFS just tell her that you can't have a party, and do something nice for her instead.
Parent of the year.

You should tell her that corona virus is too dangerous because that is a real reason

So you want your child to believe she has no friends that will come to her party because you can't be bothered to host one? That would seriously screw with her mind. If you don't want to throw a party, blame Covid-19.

that is not ok . don't tell your child that they're gonna have a party in a national pandemic
