Which of these two locations has a better job market: Austin, Texas or San Diego, California? ?

    Austin does right now. Under normal circumstances San Diego does.

    It depends on the types of jobs you're looking for.  San Diego has demand for some health care workers, engineers, and manual laborers.  Austin has demand for computer specialists, data analysts, and accountants.

    I'm sure they both do but the cost of living is so damn high I wouldn't move there unless I had a job paying higher than $250k waiting for me otherwise the cost of living is prohibitive
