Should I live in Michigan or Texas?

Are those your only choices? I'd choose Texas because I don't want to drive in snow 3 months a year, or pay the high heating bills. But if I had to live in Texas, I'd live in Austin. 

I grew up in Michigan

Now live in Texas by choice

I left Michigan when I joined the military, I spent the entire 22 years in the South or in the tropics, had no desire to ever live through another Michigan winter so stayed in Texas. Made that decision 29 years ago ain't regretted it yet.

Texas. Too cold in Michigan, but it is pretty country. 

Michigan, and take your Texas friends with you. We need fewer people in Texas. Too many gun nutz.

Both sound nice and exciting etc 

I don't know just pick some place and don't overthink it
