Do you need a water filtration system or does boiling work better? ?

It depends what country you are in. I drink it straight out of the tap where I am. 

If you boil a jugful before going to bed you'll have 2 litres of cool drinking water the next morning..

Boiling works of course, but it can be a bit of a pain for drinking water sometimes depending on your situation. There are filtration systems (and UV systems) that work well and less hassle but of course cost money.
