What happens to an adult when they get ignored when they are children?

Ignoring usually helps stop behaviors that your child is using to get your attention. This includes behaviors like throwing tantrums, whining, and interrupting. When you are ignoring, you do not look at your child or talk to him.

they turn out like me.

They become an illiterate, unaccomplished, crooked business person. And after that they become a Republican choice for president of United States. Then they screw everybody over and get impeached twice. Finally they get prosecuted for all kinds of crimes and ultimately go to jail.

"Gambling" is probably not the right category for this question, unless you're implying that lonely children turn into gambling adults.

They begin to detach themselves from everybody and everything and likely become loners..........

They become emotional wrecks 

I doubt that all people who are ignored as a child turn out the same.

I guess one possibility is that they might become depressed and starved for affection.

Another possibility is that they turn out fine and learn to live on their own. 

They never learn to speak up for themselves becouse it doesn't matter what they say, no one will listen anyways.
