I need a new phone but my mom won't add me to her plan, even if I pay my part of the bill. What can I do? ?

I'm sixteen and simply can't afford to buy a phone outright. I need a phone that is more reliable than my old Samsung because I'm constantly struggling to get mine to load things and send messages. I can only afford ~$110 a month, so I'm looking at iPhones and seeing that I could afford the monthly payment. Could I make my own account?

Update:

I don't want prepaid / straight talk. I want a real phone plan with a nice phone.

Just buy a prepaid phone. It’s much cheaper anyway. I paid $99 for my iPhone 6s, and it’s $35-55 a month depending on how much data you want. I buy the $35 card and it gives me 5gb data a month, which I have never used up. Just go to Walmart and look at the straight talk phones. They’re cheap and there’s no contract. Phone contracts are a huge rip off anyway.

When I was 16 cell phones hadn't been invented yet.  Nobody had cell phones and we all survived just fine.
